Order Tacos, Help a Tabby

This Friday, a percentage of your Happy Hour bill at the Tipsy Taco Hut will go toward local cat rescue group Catz Rule’s veterinary fund for elderly cats as part of its “Tacos for Tabbies” night. Between 4 and 8 p.m, 10 percent of every appetizer order will be earmarked for the fund.

Tipsy Taco Hut owner Maggie Owings approached Catz Rule’s president, Jason Jones, about the event.“I’ve been crazy about cats ever since I rescued my first from a dumpster,” she said. “When I heard about Catz Rule, I knew I wanted to do something to help.”

Jones will be at the event as well, along with other Catz Rule volunteers. Brochures and listings of available cats will be available for potential adopters to peruse.

Catz Rule is a rescue group specializing in under-adopted cats at local shelters. While the group rescues cats of all types, President and founder Jason Jones carries a special fondness for tabbies and calicos—the types of cats that are so common they are overlooked by most adopters.
